Clubs

Poplar Elementary School offers an afterschool Leadership Program for 6th Grade students.  Students are given the opportunity to fill out an application at the end of 5th grade.  Upon completing the application, students will be given the opportunity to interview with Mrs. Spink and Ms. Hillenburg, the leadership advisors.  Students then come back before school begins to help make the campus welcoming for students.  

Leadership students then play a vital role in supporting events that happen on the Poplar Elementary campus.  Leadership students lead the weekly PBIS assemblies, help fundraise and provide ideas for campus events.

This year Leadership students were given the opportunity to attend the Homecoming Pep Rally at Kaiser High School to see what leadership looks like at the next level. 

This year Ms. Ayrel, the wonderful librarian at Poplar Elementary has created an afterschool Theater Program for 3rd through 6th grade students.  They are currently working on their production of the Lion King.

Lion King will be performed at Kaiser High School on April 17.  More information to follow.

Mr. Dillon and Mrs. Waddell are working on transforming 5th and 6th grade students into budding musicians. 

On Tuesdays afterschool, Mrs. Annunziato is turning Poplar students into dancers.  Students in this club have performed at the Winter Program.
